Terms of Service
Short version: be reasonable, it's a task manager.
Last updated: July 19, 2026. Applies to scenetasks.com and the SceneTasks app. Using SceneTasks means you accept these terms.
The quick version
- Your tasks are yours. We take only the permissions needed to store, encrypt, back up, and show them to you and the people you share with.
- Free is free. Paid plans add perks, bill through Stripe, and cancel anytime from Settings.
- Be a reasonable human. No illegal content, no attacking the service, no reselling access.
- We're honest about limits. No SLA on free plans, and our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.
- We tell you before the rules change. Material changes are emailed to account holders before they take effect.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to use SceneTasks (see the privacy policy on children's data). Keep your credentials to yourself: you're responsible for what happens under your sign-in, and Settings gives you the tools to protect it (two-factor authentication, a security audit trail, sign-in method management).
The service and plans
SceneTasks is provided as-is, and while we're in beta, features may change shape as we improve them. The free plan is free. Paid plans add perks and are billed through Stripe; cancel anytime from Settings, with effect at the end of the billing period. If we ever discontinue a paid feature you're actively paying for, we'll say so before your next renewal.
Your content
It's yours. We claim no ownership and no rights beyond what's needed to operate the service: storing, encrypting, backing up, syncing where you've connected accounts, processing through the AI features you invoke, and displaying your content to you and to people you explicitly share it with. Export it or delete it whenever you like; the privacy policy covers exactly how deletion works.
Sharing is your call. A share link exposes the slice you chose to whoever holds the link (or only the person you pin). You're responsible for what you share and who you give links to; you can revoke any link in the share dialog.
Acceptable use
- Don't use SceneTasks to store or distribute illegal or infringing content.
- Don't probe, overload, or attack the service, and don't try to access accounts or data that aren't yours. Responsible disclosure is welcome: see Security.
- Don't resell access, scrape other users' shared links at scale, or automate abuse of any feature.
AI features and fair use
Plans that describe AI features as having no monthly cap are for ordinary personal use. We reserve the right to rate-limit, throttle, or temporarily suspend AI features on any account where usage is automated, resold, or so far beyond normal personal use that it degrades the service or its cost for everyone else. We will act proportionately, and reach out before taking action on a good-faith account wherever we reasonably can.
Connected accounts
Linking Google or Microsoft is optional and governed by their terms as well as ours. You authorize SceneTasks to access only what the feature needs (detailed per provider in the privacy policy), you can unlink at any time in Settings, and revoking access from the provider's side works too. We're not responsible for the availability or behavior of third-party services, but we'll always fail safe: losing a connection never deletes your local tasks without your say-so.
Availability and liability
We aim for boring reliability but offer no SLA on free plans. SceneTasks is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To that same extent, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.
Ending things
You can stop anytime: export your data and delete your account from Settings, effective immediately. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; we'll act proportionately and, wherever we reasonably can, contact you before acting on a good-faith account. If we ever wind the service down, account holders get notice and a window to export first.
Changes
If these terms change materially, account holders get an email before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page moves.
